What constitutes an abandonment?

The walkout.

Defined as one of several scenarios, all resulting in the same thing: no deal.

Technically, an abandonment occurs any time a user proceeds to checkout but doesn’t ultimately purchase the items in his or her cart, closes the browser, or navigates away from your site.

Basically, an abandonment is any time a shopper places an item in his or her cart but then didn’t seal the deal or close the sale. And remember, coffee is for closers.
